What Does My Ultrasound Scan Test Report Indicate?

My period is now 11 days late. I took a home pregnancy test 3 days ago and it came back negative. After experiencing pain on the left side of my abdomen off and on for the last week I went to the er today. An ultrasound showed a thickening of the endometrial echo complex measuring 2.8cm. My paperwork also states there is a small amount of adnexal fluid on the left. I have no idea what any of this means.
