Hi Today I got an ultrasound after doctors advice after complaining abdominal pain. The report shows Right Kidney showed 2-3 echogenic foci largest one measuring 0.6cm non-shadowing, could be either calculi or calcification. What does it mean..? Please suggest. Thanks and Best Regards,

Hi,

Calculi basically refer to stones. It means you have stones blocking your urine. It predisposes you to infections. Depending on the sizes of the calculi, you can wash the stones out just by drinking loads of water. If the stones are larger, you should visit a urologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
