my laboratory result gramstaining GM (+) COCCI IN PAIRS = FEW GM (+) COCCI IN CHAIN = MODERATE GM (-) DIPLOCOCCI =FEW GM (-) RODS =FEW PUS CELLS = FEW EPITHELIAL CELLS = MODERATE What does it means it is normal?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
It is difficult to interpret the clinical picture, only with a single laboratory test without knowing history and examination findings. Furnish following details:
1 Age
2 sex
3. Marital status
4.Sexual activities
5. Where from the smear taken and what was the material (urine, pus CSF, urethral, anal or cervical discharge or blood?
6 Culture attempted or not?
There different types of diplococci were present (pathogenic and nonpathogenic), Gonococci, Meningo cocci, Pharinges sicca, Catarrhalis ETC.. They can be differentiated by different biochemical test by a microbiology laboratory. Intracellular diplococci from urethral discharge from men is more in favor of Neisseria Gonorrhea.
