What Does My Endoscopy Findings Below Indicate?

Hi I got my sonography and endoscopy yesterday and the results were:

1. "Hiatus Hernia"

2 "mild hepatomegaly with fatty infiltration, grade 1"

Please sugget a good doctor for the treatment and how long would it take for me to recover.

Thanks for contacting HCM with your medical concerns.
You are concerned about your lab results and sonography.

The hiatus hernia is a very common finding on endoscopy and it means that the stomach is found just above the diaphragm. This results in frequent heart burn and can be treated easily with weight reduction, antacids and other medications to lower stomach acid like ranitidine or omeprazole. The hiatal hernia does not require surgical correction

The fatty infiltration of the liver is seen very frequently. With a diet that is high in fatty food or a person is overweight we find this on ultrasounds. There is no specific treatment other than weight loss and low fat diet with exercise.

I can reassure you that you do not need any special medical treatment. I recommend for anyone with these findings to have a good regular low fat diet, to loss weight if over weight and exercise regularly.

Hope this answers your question. Please contact us again with your medical concerns and questions
