Just got a copy of my recent blood work tests... 4 tests are elevated: MCV: 106fl (reference: 79 - 97), MCH: 35.7pg (reference: 26.6 - 33.0), Glucose, Serum: 103mg/dL (reference: 65 - 99), and Ferritin, Serum: 315ng/mL (reference: 15 - 150)... So, what s that indicate?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Incomplete data like age, gender, purpose of doing the lab tests, hemoglobin level, CBC, ESR, and other tests not given. The given tests results are suggestive of megaloblastic anemia. It is characterized by red blood cells that are larger than normal due to vitamin B-12 or/and folate deficiencies. The normal range for serum ferritin for males is 24 to 336 micrograms and for females 11 to 307 micrograms per liter.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
