What Does My CT Scan Report Indicate?

CT scan impression 1. Thickening of the right tympanic membrane as well as minimal soft tissue density between the right scutum and ossicukr chain. Findings are favored to relate to chronic otitis media less likely consideration would include a small cholesteatoma. 2. bilateral tympanostomy tubes in appropriate position. 3. Partial typpansstomy on the right mastoid air cells. 4. Minimal left maxillary and right sphenoid sinus mucosal thickening. Seeing a specialist later this week but how serious is this??

Hello,

The report is showing that there is infection in the right ear. This has been there for some time. You have had surgery where a hole was put in each eardrum, probably to drain fluid.
It also shows that some of your sinuses are inflamed.

The right ear infection can make you lose hearing if not properly treated.
The best way to say what direction your disease process is headed is to compare this report with previous CT reports to see if things are improving.

All the best.
