What Does Mucus Discharge With Blood Post C Section Indicate?

Hi I had c section 12 days ago and I have hardly been bleeding at all and my recovery has been really good. however I just went to the toilet and a large amount of jelly stringy stuff which was clear and bloody which kept coming out - I am presuming this is lining of the womb that may have not been removed during the op or should I be worried and ring the midwife?

Hi,

What you are seeing is the Lochia, after delivery whether normal or caesarean the uterine lining as you correctly guessed sheds itself. This is called Lochia, initially it is blood red,It could become brown and lighter brown before it completely disappears.
So do not worry unless it has a dirty smell , or you also have fever when it could mean that you have infection.
Otherwise this is a normal phenomenon and this is usually present for 6 weeks post delivery.

Hope this helps.
Regards
