Hi,

An inconclusive TMT due to non-achieving target heart rate, as well as poor effort tolerance, are generally signs of some heart disease, particularly of diastolic heart disease. The reason for this may be heart failure or ischemic heart disease. Therefore, further studies of heart condition, is required in this case to reach at a proper diagnosis and treatment done accordingly. Additional tests required may be echocardiography, angiography etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

General & Family Physician Dr. Priyanka's  Response
Hi,

The stress test results suggest that your mother-in-law may have difficulty achieving her target heart rate during exercise and may have poor effort tolerance. This could indicate a problem with her cardiovascular fitness or a possible issue with her heart. It would be best for her to follow up with a cardiologist for further evaluation and testing to determine these symptoms' causes and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
