What Does Inability To Detect Fetal Heart During Pregnancy Mean?

hi. I am having irregular menses. my Lmp is 19sept and recently had upt positive. by calculation I am 8w but by TVS it s 6w5d. TVS managed to detect fetal pole/ iugs but not able to detect fetal heart. what does this mean? is there a chance for me to continue this pregnancy? please advise. thanks.

Hi..in your case due to irregular menses there is disparity between ultrasound & your LMP....it may be due to delayed conception.. ideally heart beat is visible at around 5-6 wks pregnancy... But you can wait for 1 week then again get done ultrasound.. If steel it is absent then it may be missed abortion..
