What Does Hypoechoic Mass Lesion In Ultrasound Suggest?

Hi I am 74 year old lady. Recently I had a problem of urinary incontinence. For that Doctor advised me to have a ultrasound. In ultrasound it was written " circumscribed hypoechoic mass lession with few internal echoes seen in pelvic region measuring 7.0 x 8.2 cm could be ovarian mass". What does this mean. Is this thing serious?

Welcome to Health care magic.

Your report says - There is well defined circumscribed hypo echoic mass lesion probably cystic in nature with internal echoes with in the lesion ( these echoes could be the haemorrhage - blood). As its location in the adnexa - probably adnexal mass lesion.

This could be a ovarian cyst - haemorrhage in nature ( Haemorrhagic cyst). No its not very serious but can not completely ignored.
An FNAC - to evaluate the nature of cells within the lesion, after that operative removal is the treatment of choice. A good followup is necessary.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
