What Does High Level Of Troponin And Constant Heart Attack Mean?
My father is in ICU. His doctor said his troponin levels are constantly high, and its as if he is in a continuous heart attack. He has 3 damaged valves, had 2 massive heart attacks in the hospital, and a heart infection. He is also septic. His heart function is at 15%. What does being in a constant heart attack mean? I have never heard of that before.

Troponin is an enzyme produced by the heart muscle during injury to it.Dueing heart attack there will be injury to the heart muscle and it produces Troponin.Troponin levels are indicator of heart muscle injury.The level remains the same means the heart muscle injury is going on and there is no enough blood supply to the heart muscle.That is why the doctor is telling like continuous heart attack.He has to bring down the levels by correcting the blocks by medication or intervention.
