What Does Fungus Like Substances In Belly Indicate?

Hello, my almost 5 month old baby has a little blackish fungus type material in her belly button. Thank GOD, it does not bother her and there seems to be no discharge. Can you tell me what it could be? I went to the doctor who mentioned that she can clean it out, but she seemed to have forgotton to do so. Thanks.

I understand your concern. Dust and dead cells may accumilate in umbilicus visible as black material. You can clean it with cotton. All the best.
