What Does Following Ultrasound Report Suggest?

My ultrasound report shows Pre and Post void volume of my bladder. I would like to tell you that i went for the scan after emptying my bladder. The report also shows 4mm non obstructing calculus in left kidney lower calyx. I had my ultrasound done by 2 other radiologist within 24hours who found no stones.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Most of the times, kidney stones less than 7 mm will pass easily through urine. Hence the stone detected with 4 mm might have been passed through in urine.
Also, if the resolution of the ultrasound scan machine is less, it might be difficult for radiologist to pick up stones of about 4 mm and hence could miss it, reporting as normal scan.
Since 4 mm stones do not obstruct and pass easily through ureters in urine, you need not worry about it.

Kindly drink good quantities of water and keep your urine more alkaline by consuming syrup like Citralka and taking fruit juices rich in vitamin C like cranberry or orange juice regularly. This would also help in preventing further stone formation in future.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S
