Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The Ct scan shows the presence of deviated nasal septum (DNS). DNS is the deviation of the partition between two nasal cavities.

Deviation of the nasal septum can cause sinusitis and hypertrophy of the nasal turbinates. There is evidence of inflammation of the mucosa of frontal, ethmoidal and maxillary sinuses.

DNS causes structural changes in the drainage of nasal secretions in the nasal cavity. Correction of DNS can lead to relief from sinusitis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
