What Does Fluid In The Endocervix Mean?

My wife has been scheduled to have an ultrasound for fluid in the endocervix . What might her uncommunicative physician be trying to rule out? I am a retired doctor with no gyn experience and have some concern I d rather not alarm my wife about. Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
I do understand your pain and discomfort.
As per your history is concerned he is searching [Nabothian] cysts inside cervical canal for pelvic pain and discharge,in my opinion first try to balance her hormone level as she is menopause for vaginal atrophy ,if that can not correct then remove both without taking any future risks.
I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me.
Wishing you all the best.
Thanks
