What Does Feeling Of Stretched Muscle On Tongue With Anxiety Suggest?
Hi, I've been having this weird feeling on the right side of my tongue mainly if i push my tongue against the back of my teeth the right side almost feels like the muscle is being stretched or almost like i can feel the blood running through a vein in my tongue. I do suffer from anxiety and globus sensation at times.
Hi Dear, Welcome to HCM. Understanding your concern.
Thanks for your query . The symptoms you mention in query occur due to variety of reasons like inflamed taste buds , pharyngitis , laryngitis or oral submucous fibrosis . In these condition tongue feel heaviness ,stiffness or difficulty in movement (feeling stretched) . Anxiety probably is not the reason .
I would suggest you to consult oral pathologist without any delay. Doctor may order MRI ,blood test ,swab test or biopsy to find out exact cause and to rule out any cancerous condition.
For now quit smoking and drinking , do warm saline rinses , take muscle relaxant and dring plenty of water.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
