Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been coughing up green phlegm mostly at night over the last three weeks. It seems to have worsened to include the day time as well. I am running a low grade temperature that really doesn t quite get to 100. I m a walker and that does not seem to be a problem. I have headaches and eye aches and sometimes ear aches. I m in great health at 71 years old. A former smoker (stopped 30 years ago) and I do not drink alcohol. I would very much appreciate any feedback you may have. Thank you so much for your time. Judy
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You are having cough with fever since three week. So we have to rule out pneumonia and bronchitis. Investigate with CBC and chest x ray. Than if needed spirometry can be done. Your physical examination should include Auscultation, palpation as well. Consult pulmonologoist for examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
