What Does Bulky Ovaries With Small Immature Follicles Mean In Sonography?
I have done Sonography and report is like : both ovaries are enlaged and bulky with multiple small immature follicles predominantly arrange to the periphery with floating ecogenic stroma within.hilum is dense bilateral s/o changes of polycystic ovaries.

Ultrasound findings may suggests bilateral polycystic ovarian disease(PCOD).
PCOD has typical appearance in USG and it is indicated by increase ovarian size,hyperechoic stroma and necklace appearance of cysts arranged in periphery.
PCOD should be confirmed by clinical correlation and biochemical markers like hormonal assay for PCOD.
PCOD is a curable disease and mostly it is treated by medicines.Surgical intervention is required in very few cases.
