What Does Blood In Urine Indicate In A 68-year-old?
I saw a small amount of blood in my urine yesterday and again today. I m 68 years old and in good shape. Worked hard yesterday shoveling snow. Had a physical 13 months ago. Checked out good. My email YYYY@YYYY . Should I have anything to worry about?
Yes, further work up should be done for blood in urine.
Your work up done as follow: -Urine routine microscopic examination -Urine culture of urine examination show pus cells -Pelvic USG
If urine shows RBC cast, then Glomerulonephritis like cause can be present. If pus cells present, then UTI can be the possibility. And if WBC cast present, then pyelonephritis can be the possibility.
According to the cause, specific treatment can be given. Coagulation disorder ruled out if needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
