What Does An Itchy Red Spot On The Body Indicate?

I went to a doc. I ask for the flu vaccine a the shingles vaccine . I did get the flu vaccine but instead of the shingles vaccine I was given Chicken pot vaccine. I am 69 years old what can happen to me. After 9 days I have a red spot on my right side it hurts and it itchs.

Hello, my name is Dr Olgeta Xhufka. I understand your concern. Shingels vaccineis simply a larger-than-normal dose of the same vaccine used against chickenpox, and is used in older adults to reduce the risk of shingles (also called herpes zoster) and postherpetic neuralgia, which are caused by the same virus.
The most common side effects of either chicken pox or shingles vaccine are redness, pain, tenderness, swelling and itching at the injection site, and headaches.
Some people report a chickenpox-like rash after getting the shingles vaccine.
