What Does An Elevated WBC Indicate?

Hello. Recent lab results indicated that my white cell count is elevated. I have been treating high blood pressure for years now. Doc just increased dosage for management. Even with the increase of bloodpressure med, I am still running high. ie 150/58 63, 5 min later, 148/57 59. Doc did tell me to let her know if bloodpressure goes above 130. So question is increased white count with elevated bloodpressure, what do you think.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think there is not a correlation between high blood pressure with high leucocytes level.

High WBCs is related to:
1. Infection
2. Inflammation
3. Tumor
4. Pregnancy

While for blood pressure you have to consult your doctor because you need to monitor your blood pressure and to manage better the medication you are taking.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
