What Does Acid Reflux Along With Chest Pain And Fatigue Indicate?

My 69 yr. old husband has been having bouts of heart burn/ chest pain with feeling weakness. He has not had shortness of breath or sweating. The episodes pass. He does not want to be checked. Should I insist on going to urgent care or ER if this happens again?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I would suggest an endoscopy to see if there is any peptic ulcer or hiatal hernia. Sometime reduced pressure in lower esophageal sphincter too results in acid reflux. Avoid alcohol, smoking and spicy foods strictly. Advise some antacid tablets too like Pantoprazole etc. Contact for further questions.

Thank you.

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
