Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Abdominal Discomfort On The Left Side Indicate?
The issue has been on going for three plus month. Discomfort in left side of abdomen. Discomfort is mostly constant. Most prominent in abdomen after sleeping.Occasionally radiating into left side of chest. I can not associate the chest discomfort with food consumption. I do an elliptical work out three days a week, and it flares up during workout (feels like a pulled muscle). May have one or two beers a week. W/M; 64; reasonable health (taking a statin and HBP meds)
Pain the left side of the abdomen may be due to acute gastritis, a muscle spasm, left renal stone, or colitis etcetera. Avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking, and caffeine drinks.
Take tablet pantoprazole before breakfast for one week. Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Consult your physician he will examine and do scan abdomen and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
