What Does A White Spot On The Jaw Bone X-ray Report Indicate?
I went to the Dentist today and she did an X Ray and saw a white spot right by my jaw line I between my tooth and jaw line! She compared my x rays from almost 2 yrs ago and the spot was there in both x rays! Doesn t look to have gotten bigger she said it could be calcium build up, a cyst or a tumor! My question is what could this be? You can t see it unless you look at the x Ray as far as I know! I have to set up an appointment with an oral specialist this week!
There are many reasons that can cause a white spot on the x-ray. As your doctor rightly said, it could be a developmental anomaly, cyst or a tumor. It requires attention of an oral surgeon for specific diagnosis and management, if necessary.
However, as the x-ray of two years ago did show the same spot and has not increased in size, it is possible that it is present since birth and requires no treatment.
I cannot really advise anything much than your dentist without seeing the x-ray. So take an appointment with the oral surgeon and get it diagnosed. Do not worry excessively as most of the lesions in jaw are manageable.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let us know if you need further help.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
