What Does A Sore Above The Buttock Crack Indicate?
I had recently gotten over a sickness and now has a sore above the crack of my butt. It has been bleeding and is combined with something that smells somewhat foul. but It doesn't look like feces. Is it just a large zit with smelly pus? I don't know what to do it has me very on edge.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that sore over the butt crack that bleeds and is smelly with a foul smell seems to be most probably due to formation of Pilonidal cyst or Pilonidal Abscess and it can occur due to causes like:
-Traumatic injury to tailbone area. -Ingrown hairs. -Infection in the area etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Proctologist or a General Surgeon and get evaluated and a clinical examination is generally sufficient and if required x ray can also be advised..
In case of Pilonidal abscess you can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and cool compresses over the area.. You can also be advised Incision and Drainage in case of abscess..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
