What Does A Small Lump On The Back Indicate?

Hello, For many years I had a small lump on my back ... on the inside not the outside. I could move it around with my fingers as if it was an oblong ball. Recently, I noticed some liquid and I felt for the lump but it s no longer there. There is a small hole on my back now and a dark mark where the lump used to live (on my actual skin). Then a few days later, I started getting a rash or it may be ezcema on my back (spine) and on my chest the opposite side of where the lump was. What could this be??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be a small lipoma or sebaceous cyst. Nothing much to worry as both of them are harmless and non-cancerous conditions.

Consult a general surgeon and get it removed. Nothing to worry as it can be removed under local anaesthesia easily.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
