What Does A Skin Tag On The Upper Thigh Of A Child Indicate?

My seven year old son has a skin tag for some time now on his upper thigh. The tag now looks to be swollen and resembles a white headed pimple that looks ready to be popped. He says it hurts. Is it possible that a skin tag can transform into a pimple? Any recommendations?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
A skin tag is just a small growth on the skin.It may not pose any health problem but may be annoying. The symptoms you describe suggest the skin tag has been infected. This is a possibility.I will suggest you give the child pain/anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen and see a Doctor for examination. If any clinical arguments for a bacterial or fungal infection, appropriate antibiotics or anti-fungi will be prescribed.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
