What Does A Serum Bilirubin Level Of 3.28 Indicate?

Respected sir/mam,
i had been diagnosed with serum bilirubin level (total) at 3.28 mg/dl, serum bilirubin level (direct) at 1.1 mg/dl, serum bilirubin level (indirect) at 2.18 mg/dl and serum alkaline phosphatase at 340 U/L and SGOT and SGPT level is normal. I have no symptoms of jaundice. Please tell me from which disease i am suffering from, its causes,symptoms and treatment.

Your indirect (unconjugated) bilirubin is elevated above normal. This is mostly associated with haemolysis (breakdown of red blood cells) or liver impairment.

The main issue now is to detect the cause. Blood picture (CBC) and abdominal ultrasound are advised as the next investigation.
