What Does A Red Spot On The Roof Of The Mouth Indicate?

Hello there, I went to see my dentist last week and there was a small red circular spot on the roof of my mouth. I was asked to return in 2 weeks to see if the red area is no longer visible but its still there. I do not suffer any discomfort, but why is my dentist so concerned?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of red spot on the roof of the mouth. Well there can be many reasons for these spots like allergic reaction due to any food product, pharyngitis, oral thrush, oral herpes, excessive cigarette smoking, and any medication side effects.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain complete oral hygiene. If they are painful you should gargle with a numbing mouthwash to relieve pain You should consult oral physician once for proper diagnosis and start treatment as per examination. Maintain hygiene of oral cavity to prevent bacterial growth. Use antimicrobial mouthwash. Apply dologel gel on these dots.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
