Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had a red nipple for about 3 months. My mammogram and ultrasound came out okay. I went to a surgeon for another opinion and was told to keep it covered with an ointment and if it doesn t get any better in a month or two to return for a biopsy. Any thoughts or suggestions?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, your doctor is right as it may be mastitis or eczema or it may be Paget's disease. So you are advised to return after a month for biopsy. It's a good thing that your scan is normal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Varinder Joshi
