Hi,

A red rash on the testicles and penis, along with pain and swelling, could be a sign of a few different conditions. You may have an infection, such as a yeast infection, balanitis (inflammation of the foreskin), or a sexually transmitted infection (STI). It's also possible that you have a skin condition, such as eczema, psoriasis, or contact dermatitis.

The fact that you have varicoceles, which are enlarged veins in the scrotum, could also be contributing to the discomfort and pain you're experiencing. Varicoceles can cause a feeling of heaviness or aching in the testicles, and can sometimes lead to infertility.

It's important to see a healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. They may recommend a physical exam, blood or urine tests, or a skin biopsy to determine the cause of the rash and pain. Treatment may include antibiotics, antifungal medication, or other medications to manage any underlying conditions.

General & Family Physician Dr. Dr. Nupur K's  Response
Hello,

Jock itch is a very common rash on scrotum caused by fungus. Maintain your hygiene. Poor hygiene, moisture and warmth causes overgrowth of the fungus and bacteria. Jock itch is normally treated using antifungal creams. Resistant jock itch infections are treated with oral anti fungal medications.

Good skin hygiene prevents jock itch. Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are dry skin and razor bump shavings. Since you have been diagnosed with varicocele get examined and evaluated by a Urologist or a Surgeon. You may be recommended surgery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
