What Does A Painful Bruise On Hip Indicate?

my daughter is a softball pitcher and this weekend she developed a bruise on the upper part of her hip after complaining of hip pain or pain in the front of her hip when she pulls the leg through on her pitch. she didnt get hit or anything but it has gotten worse as the day has gone on. Could it be a pulled muscle
