What Does A Nodule In Prostrate With PSA Of 1.8 Mean?

My Urologist felt a nodule in my prostrate during a recital exam. My last exam was 20 months ago at which time my PSA was 1.1 and my exam PSA is presently 1.8 . i am 67 years of age, weigh 160 lbs., 5ft. 5in. tall, white and in good health. My father father died at the age of 72 after a 2 year battle from prostrate cancer. What options exist to diagnose the prostrate? Which is the most reliable option?

The nodule in the prostate is due to the calcification. PSA is absolutely in normal condition. You should go for a dedicated transrectal ultrasound of prostate or MRI examination of prostate. Testosterone levels in the blood may also be carried out. I think there is no need to biopsy the prostate.
