What Does A Mass In The Lung On An X-ray Report Suggest?

After being bruised in left rib , the X-ray discovered a 4 cm mass in my left mid lung. I am 70 and after extensive reading and medical friends- I realize because of my age ant the possible seriousness of possible lung cancer- I do not need extensive radiation from a Ct scan. I m choosing to do an MRI.

Hello,

No, MRI is not good for lung tissue. Lungs are not visible at all in MRI because they are air filled interspace and getting a CT done does not have so much risk for cancer as you say.

So, kindly get CT only done and get treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
