What Does A Growth In The Throat Indicate?

Hi guys. Was just wondering if you could tell me about what scar tissue after tonsillectomy would look like? Or if it is tonsils growing back? I had surgeory roughly 5 weeks ago now and have noticed tissue starting grow in cavities where tonsils were removed.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

After tonsillectomy wound healing occurs and so fibrosis might be there.

So the observed portion of the tonsillectomy area could be healing fibrosis.

If it is increasing in size then you can consult your otorhinolaryngologist for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami,
