What Does A Dull Lower Back Pain Indicate?

Hello, I am having a dull ache on both sides of my lower back. I had a hysterectomy in 2012, but I would describe the pain as being where my ovaries use to be... It s uncomfortable enough that I m having trouble ignoring it. What could it be? I noticed it upon awakening this morning.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The back pain on the site you describe can be:

-kidney problem (infection or stones) associated with urinary problems like burning, pain, fever with chills.
-spinallystheasis at the lumbar spine. Maybe associated with pins & needles or numbness or muscle pull.

It should not be ignored. Get yourself examined, investigated as per need & get the causes excluded/confirmed to get it specifically treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
