What Does A Copper Colored Scale Around The Rectum Indicate?
I am caregiving for my dad. He had developed a kind of copper looking scale around his rectum opening. It is a couple of inches from the rectum and it kind of patchy and about 3 inches long. We have been cleaning him for almost 5 years now and this is the first time this has developed. It doesn t appear to be red or have blisters it looks more like a scale but wont wipe off or go away. About 5 days now.

Copper colored scale around anus could be caused by an anal infection by a fungus or poor anal cleaning since he has been unable to do it for long on his own.Other anal pathologies like anal cancer will have other symptoms. I will suggest you get his anus examined by a Doctor.Topical anti-mycotics like miconazole cream may help solve the problem.I will however prefer you see a Doctor to confirm diagnosis first.
