What Does A PSA Level Of 2.2 Indicate?

I was recently taking Rapaflo and Finesteride, and my uralagist told me that I could discontinue the Rapaflo. Should I be concerned about my symptoms returning. My recent PSA was 2.2 The symptoms that I had was a weak stream and freakweant nighttime urination. Your thoughts please.

Do you have any earlier PSA values?





It would be important to know if your PSA has been going up. Yes, a weak urinary stream and urinating during the night are signs that the prostate gland is enlarged. But remember an enlarged prostate does not always mean cancer.





Benign prostatic hypertrophy(BPH) means the prostate is also enlarged, but BPH is not cancer. Your PSA of 2.2 is slightly elevated. You will need to have your PSA level checked on a regular basis as determined by your primary care physician or urologist. Your doctor will also perform a digital rectal exam to follow the size of your prostate and check it for lumps.
