Hi,

You have sacralisation of L 5 vertebra as seen on KUB X ray. A KUB X ray primarily focuses on the presence of a radio opaque abnormality in the kidneys and urinary bladder regions. It can pick up small stones in the urinary tract. In your case there is no such abnormal radio opacity noted in the kidneys or urinary bladder area.

The lower end of the backbone consists of 5 separate lumbar bones and followed by 5 fused sacral bones. When the last lubar bone appears like a sacral bone then it is called sacralisation. Saralisation of L 5 vertenbra is a condition by birth and considered more of an extension of the normal. In modern life backache is common complaint.

Low back pain (LBP) is quite a common ailment affecting about 80% of the population in their life time. One of the causes is sacralization of lumbar vertebra. It occurs as a result of congenital anomaly in the segmentation of the lumbosacral spine.

It is not usually related to urine problems.
