What Do You Suggest For A 'dry' Feeling In The Inside Corner Of My Right Eye?
I have a 'dry' feeling in the inside corner of my right eye. It isn't dry. I use genteal tears regularly, and ointment at night. Was wondering if it might be an infection.. I have a sall tube of polysporin opth oint, but it dates back to 2001, would that be helpful?
Hello It seems from the history that you are having dry feeling inside the corner of the right eye. The dryness of eyes is usually because of dry eyes which can be because of decreased tear secretions or tears being not able to keep the surface of the eyes moist because of irregularities of the ocular surface like dellen caused by pterygium or pinguecula. The treatment is by using artificial tears and treatment of the underlying cause.
This is not caused by infection, hence polysporin which is a antibiotic ointment is not required.Since the ointment dates back to 2001 it should not be used. Any ointment or eye drop once opened should be used within 1 month.
Thank you
