What Do White Patches On The Back Of A Child Indicate?

Hello this is regarding my 6 yr old daughters white patch. She first got one white patch on her back and it took 2 yrs and now that s completely gone. She suffered from eczema till she turned 3 yrs. now since 1 yr she got white patches on her eyelids. Please help me whether they will be curable or not

Hi,

It may be pityriasis alba most probably. However,vitiligo is another possibility. So, consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. If it is pityriasis alba, there is no need to worry. It is superficial eczema.It is self limiting condition. Tacrolimus oint 0.03% may be applied. Wormicidle drug like albendazole may be considered, if worm infestation is suspected. If it is vitiligo. One has to be more concious as it is a chronic ,relapsing depigmetary disease. And socially it is unacceptable in India,even though it is harmless. There are many different modes of treatment...so,consult the dermatologist and get treatment.
