What Do Visible Red Spots At The Beginning Of The Throat Suggest?

Hello I have looked at the crack of my throat I see what appears to be red spots. A local pharmacist acknowledged these spots and suggested I have an infection of some sort. I then went to see a GP who said that the spots are normal and is a part of the mouth Anatomy. However did claim so redness in throat. I have never seen these spots before (I think) so alarms bells went off. I don t have a fever or pain or pain Throat. Any advice please!!

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have red spots on crack of the throat suggest . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like tonsillitis , strep throat , viral pharyngitis or canker sore . They can also be a normal part of orla anatomy , but your should get them checked once . I would suggest you to consult ENT spcialist for proper examination . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test or examination with laryngoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibacterial like amoxicillin or penicillin , anti viral like acyclovir along with anti inflammatory . For now do warm saline gargles and avoid eating spicy and acidic food and beverages .
