What Do Vertical Lines On The Nails Indicate?

Please , I would like to know what means having vertical line in my nails, they start about when I was 35 yrl. three fingers nail were clear of those fine lines but last year they start having the lines pus they crack just righ at the tip along the line. Thanks.

There can be so many reasons for lines on the nails. ,most of the times it not because of any disease , but nail changes are associated with a lot of diseases including infection, kidney and liver disease, nutritional deficiencies, etc. All may have its own pattern but it cannot be said with out seeing it . i would advise if you could please upload a picture so that we can see that or you better see your dermatologist in this regard.
