Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My right hand is shaking when I eat, write and etc. This has gotten worse after I fell and broke my neck. Could this have made this worse. I have been under dr. care all this time until they gave a ok with the bone healing. Thanks for any more help, if I can do anything more to help so it does not get worse. Thanks, Janice Buchanan
Movement disorders are usually of central origin but have reported in association with peripheral trauma. Trauma like whiplash injury to the cord is more chances to development of tremor. Seventy-five percent of patients make a complete recovery from whiplash type injury within a year; however, a more severe neck injury is associated with delayed recovery.
The variable time between injury and onset during which most of these patients fail to come to neurological attention and the propensity to attribute symptoms that are difficult to explain to psychological mechanisms may be important in the underappreciation of these disabling conditions. Please consult your neuro physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
