What Do This CT Scan Reports Of Abdomen And Pelvic Indicate?

I recently had a CT scan of Abdomen and pelvis due to recurring UTI s after TVT (tension-free vaginal tape). Have been on antibiotic now for nearly 7 months and still happening. The results of the CT scan revealed a left adrenal adenoma, left inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, diverticulosis, small lesion on right kidney-too small to characterize, and mild hepatomegaly. I m 73 years old and was told by my urologist that mild hepatomegaly is not uncommon in older folks. I ve been having a lot of stomach issues (not sure if from all the meds I ve been on) or from the problems that were revealed on CT scan. Thank you for your input. Athalia Rodriguez.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As per my clinical experience, the CT report is suggestive of multiple pathologies in terms of left adrenal adenoma, left inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, diverticulosis and hepatomegaly. The cause of concern for recurrent urinary tract infection may be related to:
- Immune deficiency from age related decline
- Side effect of certain medications as corticosteroids or else

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
