Hi,I am 36 yrs old. My height is 5 10 and my weight is 78 kgs. My total cholesterol is 213, HDL: 39 and LDL: 119 and my triglyceride is 346.I am pretty active and exercise regularly. I am not on any medication now but would want to know if I should start any. Thanks!!Rana
Your findings suggests altered lipid profile. Cholesterol and LDL level are borderline raised.Cholesterol level should be below 200 mg % and LDL level should be below 100 mg % Main concern is triglyceride level which is raised very much.Triglyceride level should be below 150 mg %. I suggest combination tablet of atorvastatin(10 mg) and fenofibrate(160 mg) single dose at night after dinner to my patients. It helps in normalizing lipids.
Besides medicines,I also suggest diet and life style changes to my patients. You should avoid fried and fatty food. It is good that you are physically so active. You also need few other investigations like routine hemogram, random blood sugar, liver function test and ultrasound of abdomen.
