What Do The Following Blood And Urine Test Report Indicate?

I SEE YOU CHARGE. I M NOT WORKING AT THIS TIME AND CAN NOT AFFORD IT. I am a 58 yr old white female 5 0 119 lbs. My GP called and told me I have stage 3 ckd. She did a series of blood test and urine. I do not have the results. I also have hypothyroidism. My thyroid was totally removed in 2003. I do have high blood pressure. I take meds for it. She said it was probably brought on by abuse of over the counter anti inflammatory meds. Which I took because of serious back pain on the right side muscle going up. I do have a herniated disc. I see her Sept 1. She will get me an appointment with a kidney doctor and I m hoping a dietitian. She mentioned a low protein diet. Drink small amounts of water. I was shocked to hear this news and didn t ask any questions at the time. My main concern is how much water to drink per day. Also can I drink black sweet tea. I ve been eating very little. I don t want to do anything to make it worse.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The results are related to stage three of chronic kidney disease which is a moderate kidney damage. While stage 3 CKD isn't curable, an early diagnosis can mean a stop to further progression. It can also mean a decreased risk of complications. Having stage 3 CKD doesn't mean your condition will automatically progress to kidney failure. You should follow up with your nephrologist.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
