Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes in my neck since mid December. I have been on antibiotics for 8 days and I am no better than before taking them. I have taken 2 boxes of Musinex D ( not sure on spelling) sold behind the counter, drinking tons of fluids too. What do you suggest I do now I don’t have any other symptoms other then the sore throats and swollen lymph node I feel fine.
There are 2 conditions, broadly, one painful swollen lymph nodes specifically indicates recent infection and it invariably subsides another is painless, hard lymph node indicates tuberculosis, malignancy, lymphomas to rule out you have to go through tests and moreover duration of swollen lymph node not given in your query.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. BarunBijoy Bhattacharjee
