What Do Swelling And Pain In The Right Leg Indicate?
I just had a Doppler to see if I had a deep vein thrombosis or a clot in the right leg. It didn t show any clots...only A Bakers Cyst. I ve been taking aspirin every 3-4 hours since last Thursday when I woke up & couldn t walk due to heaviness, swelling,& extreme pain in this leg. It has gotten better but still not able to support myself to walk. I have muscle wasting on both legs & a lot of weakness due to the muscle loss. My Foot Is Swelled & my Knee Is Swelled. I also Have Numbness Along The toes & along the outer side of the right foot. I ve had trouble walking for a long time but no doctor has figured out what is going on. The pain was unbearable with this episode. I do have osteoarthritis (diagnosed) & it runs in my family. I ve had for many years.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for thw query. I understand your concern. Your symptoms are due to baker's cyst... the basic cause being the osteoarthritis. -The pain ,inability to walk, muscle are due to arthritis .Wasting of muscles Numbness are due to reduced leg movements & nerve pressure on nerve suplying leg . -Treatment consists of treatment of arthritis (which in turn reduces cyst &it's symptoms.) - Anti inflammatory drugs over the counter along with self care like using cruches or stick, uae of knee cap would reduce your problem. Consultation of orthopedic surgeon would be final verdict. Thanks.
