Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have small bumps underneath my nostrils that have been there for approximately 2 months. At first I thought it was a pimple but it won t go away and it spread to the side of my nose. It is painful and I went to my doctor last week. She told me it was a bacterial infection and put me on an antibiotic. The antibiotic isn t doing anything. I don t have any acne and that is the only spot on my face that has an issue. Previous to the bumps, I had a very sour smell in my nose and thought I had some type of infection.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of small bumps under the nostrils which occurs due to infection of hair follicles leading to folliculitis and due to blockage of clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum ,dead skin and bacteria get infected.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply topical antibacterial ointment such as mupirocin. Make use of product containing benzoyl peroxide. Take Multivitamin supplements. Apply Adapalene gel once at night. Also wash your face with mild soap and cold water twice a day , exfoliate your face once a week. Drink plenty of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet. If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist once and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
